Walk to Cure Arthritis North Texas
Saturday, May 3, 2014
Globe Life Park in Arlington
The Walk to Cure Arthritis raises funds and awareness to fight the nation's leading cause of disability. We aren't just helping the millions of people who live with arthritis pain, we're funding research that's getting us closer to a cure.
The event features a three-mile and one-mile course, with arthritis information and activities for the entire family. Pet owners are encouraged to bring their dogs.
Let's raise funds to find a cure for arthritis, then come together to support each other and walk!
Bridget O'Donnell was diagnosed with Juvenile Arthritis in her tweens. She suffered from this painful chronic illness during an era when the drugs just weren't as advanced as they are today. The disease affected her knees, hips and neck. She had a hard time getting around most days, but she NEVER complained and was always at the ready with a funny one-liner or witty comeback. She was the funny one in the family and we miss her terribly to this day. She died eleven years ago this September - years of powerful drugs ultimately took their toll on her body.
July 10 marks what would have been Bridget's (aka B-dogg's) 40th birthday! And that's why this year we're forming a team to celebrate and honor her life. Our goal is to recruit as many team members and raise as much money as possible so no one else dies as a result of this awful disease!
